Advanced Hands-On Therapeutic Endoscopy Course

Course structure: Lectures and hands-on training. Suggested audience: Physicians (gastroenterologists and surgeons) interested in learning and improving endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and endoscopic suturing. Endoscopic procedure room nurses and technicians interested in learning and improving advanced therapeutic endoscopy skills.

Objectives:

1. To review indications and currently available techniques of endoscopic piecemeal (EMR) and en-block resection (ESD) of GI tract lesions.

2. To review endoscopic suturing device and its practical use for endoscopic correction of obesity, stent fixation, closure of perforations, fistulas and other indications.

Course participants will learn the following practical skills:

1. EMR with submucosal fluid injection (injection needle and Coagrasper, Olympus America, Center Valley, PA, USA), Captivator EMR kit, Captivator II snares, Resolution 360 clips and RescueNet retrieval device (Boston Scientific Corporation, Natick, MA, USA).

2. Classic ESD with distal attachment, injection needle, Coagrasper, Dual knife, IT knife, IT-nano, SB knife, TT knife, Hook knives (Olympus America, Center Valley, PA, USA) and DiLumen retractor (Lumendi LLC, Westport, CT, USA) 3. Classic ESD with distal attachment (Olympus America, Center Valley, PA, USA), HybridKnife and VIO

3 generator (ERBE USA Inc, Marietta, GA, USA).

4. Use of EleviewTM for submucosal injection during EMR and ESD

5. Endoscopic suturing with Overstitch Suturing device (Apollo Endosurgery Inc, Austin, TX, USA).

6. ESD with advanced traction device and dual channel endoscope, TRACMOTION, ClutchCutter, and FlushKnife (FUJILFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, Lexington, MA, USA)
